The Tourist Guiding program is designed to meet the need for professional tourist guiding, which plays a vital role in tourism activities both in our country and in the Antalya/Alanya region, the capital of tourism. The Tourist Guiding program was established in our vocational school to introduce our rich historical, cultural, and natural heritage to domestic and foreign tourists in the most accurate and effective way and to meet the region's need for qualified, well-equipped, and foreign-language-speaking guides. Our primary goal is to train qualified tourist guides and prospective managers who can work at every level of the tourism system by blending theoretical knowledge with field practice. With this program, our students are expected to acquire the following skills:
Professional Competence: In-depth expertise in Türkiye’s history, culture, mythology, and geography, along with advanced foreign language skills.
Managerial Skills: Analytical thinking, crisis resolution, strong organizational ability, leadership, and corporate representation capabilities.
Social and Ethical Values: Effective communication skills; the awareness of integrating universal values such as tolerance, respect, courtesy, and honesty into professional life.
Thus, our program aims to increase the quality of our national tourism and make a sustainable contribution to the national economy by providing the well-equipped workforce required by the sector. The Tourist Guide program plays a vital role in enhancing the professional and cultural qualifications of guides, who serve as the face of the country's tourism industry, ensuring guest satisfaction, and contributing to the promotion of Türkiye. The duration of the program is 4 semesters. Students who successfully complete all the courses and mandatory vocational practical training in the program are awarded an associate degree in Tourist Guiding.
After completing their associate degree education, our graduates are entitled to receive the title of "Professional Tourist Guide" upon fulfilling the legal requirements (foreign language proficiency, domestic practice tour, and professional admission exam) determined by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Our students graduate with in-depth knowledge in fields such as art history, archaeology, geography of Türkiye, and mythology, as well as crisis management and communication skills. To provide these skills, great care has been taken to ensure that the entire academic staff consists of professional tourist guides. In particular, the fact that all field courses are taught by tour guide/academics will significantly increase the quality of these courses. Our graduates have opportunity to work as permanent or independent/freelance professional tourist guides in travel agencies and tour operators. Additionally, they can find employment in tourism information and advisory bureaus, travel agencies, tour operators, museums, archaeological sites, congress and organization companies, and the relevant departments of the aviation industry.

It is to contribute directly to both regional and national development by bringing professionals with strong representation skills, who master the dynamics of the sector and can integrate with technological developments and new-generation tourism applications, into the tourism ecosystem.
